This project will distribute 15,000 improved cookstoves to households that are cooking with firewood on traditional cookstoves. The target villages, located across the state of Meghalaya, India, are nestled in poor and hard-to-access regions. Households depend on firewood to fuel their cooking activities. This high-efficiency cookstove that works on all solid biomass fuels results in significant reductions in fuelwood consumption and related carbon emissions.
