Project
Crafters Development Programme

The arts and crafts development program initiated by the Kulani Collective aims to empower artists in rural South Africa by providing comprehensive training, resources, and support to foster their skills and entrepreneurial endeavors. Through workshops, mentorship, and access to essential tools and materials, the program equips participants with the necessary knowledge and capabilities to thrive in the creative industry.

Furthermore, by facilitating opportunities for marketing and sales, the program enables artists to reach broader audiences and establish sustainable livelihoods, thereby contributing to economic development and cultural preservation within rural communities. Through this initiative, the Kulani Collective seeks to nurture a vibrant and inclusive arts community while empowering individuals to pursue their passions and talents.

We currently work with artists and crafters within the following mediums:

  • Weaving
  • Pottery
  • Sewing
  • Knitting

  • Macrame
