Dual migration corridors

One of the world’s most abundant and diverse wildlife, the Mount Kenya Ewaso N'giro North Landscape, is facing increasing pressure due to climate change, population growth, economic development, and rapid social, cultural and political transformations. One practical example is the major ongoing infrastructure project LAPSSET (Lamu Port, South Sudan, and Ethiopia Transport Corridor). In this dry and semi-arid environment, the freedom of movement across the land is essential for both wildlife and pastoralists as it allows them to reach water sources and pasture. However, this vital function of the landscape is compromised and has become an urgent concern. With the "Dual purpose corridors initiative" the goal is to initiate the implementation of spaces where it is possible to restore the mobility of humans and animals.
