Restoration of a connectivity corridor in El Silencio (9.7 ha)

Supported by Fundación Natura and the GEF-Magdalena project and in collaboration with the local community, this 9.7 ha biological corridor was planted to connect the northern forest patch in Selva Verde with the much larger southern patch in Buenos Aires and Peñon del Caballo, aiming to create the largest continuous habitat in the region: more than 2,700 ha. This habitat will be critical for cross-breeding and long term survival of key species that are highly mature forest dependent, such as the Blue-billed curassow and the Brown-spider monkey.
