Boosting Community livelihoods (Mida) to lower Forest Resource over-pressure

Mida Creek is found in Kilifi County in Kenya, Kilifi County is among the ASALs Counties in Kenya. Due to climate change over years rainfall has become unreliable and the local communities were majorly depending on farming activities. Due to this local communities have been faced with a lot of challenges in earning their living. this has led to increased over-dependence on forest resources for their living and for building materials. illegal logging activities are increasing thus threatening forest. through this community outreach project were aiming at creating alternative livelihoods for the local communities to reduce forest over-dependence. this will be achieved through educating the local communities on importance of conservation, like beekeeping projects as better utilisation of the forest resource. Help the community to practice agroforestry in their farms for building materials and not depending on mangroves trees. Raising school fees for children's who are in need and actively participating in planting and conservation activities.
