Project

We currently have teams living inside the park in a specially built low-impact biological station, as well as in three different communities around the protected area. These teams are in charge of supporting monitoring activities in the park, reintroducing extirpated species and increasing the wellbeing and income of local families. To achieve this, a jaguar reintroduction project is underway—achieving the first ever mating of a wild and a captive jaguar, which produced two cubs—and projects are being initiated to reintroduce giant otters, marsh deer, red-footed tortoises, and guanacos. Together with local communities, we launched the Entrepreneurs by Nature program, which aims for local people to become the guardians of wildlife through the development of self-sustainable entrepreneurial networks that nurture local pride, agroecology, and fair trade.
