Summary
Coastal California has lost 90% of its kelp forests. This project is working to restore 200,000 sq-ft of degraded giant kelp forest in Southern California. It employs local fisherman to clear "urchin barrens", which allows the kelp forests to grow back rapidly. SeaTrees project partner, The Bay Foundation, operates this project.
