Seringueira REDD+ Project

The Seringueira Project is implemented in the municipality of Ipixuna, Amazonas State, Brazil, under the Agriculture, Forestry, and Other Land Uses (AFOLU) sector within the Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD+) category.

The project is being developed following the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) guidelines and the Climate, Community, and Biodiversity Standards (CCB).

The REDD+ project plays a crucial role in reducing the impacts of climate change, mitigating social disparities, and conserving biodiversity.

The total area of the property is 37,000 hectares, with the project covering approximately 18,000 hectares of native Amazon Rainforest. At the end of the 30 years of the project, the emission of approximately 1,209,088 tons of Greenhouse Gases (GHG) will have been avoided.

The Seringueira REDD+ project is managed by the Brazilian carbon project developer Moss and monitored via Nadar's satellite monitoring system.
