Summary
Escalating human-elephant conflict, habitat loss, and threats to forest reserves necessitate urgent action to protect this ecosystem, home to East Africa's largest elephant population of approximately 22,000. Collaborating with villages bordering Katavi National Park and Luafi Game Reserve, our comprehensive programme aims to foster coexistence with elephants, safeguard village forest reserves, and promote sustainable livelihoods through agroforestry, beekeeping, and regenerative agriculture.
