In the Sava region, a natural succession of mangroves should protect coastal areas against cyclones and coastal erosion, while species closer to the sea help break the waves and species closer to the land help break the strong winds. Faced with the destruction of these species, Graine de Vie is restoring several plots to allow:

• the reconstitution of the natural mangrove ecosystem
• the response to the socio-economic problems of the local communities

This project has several benefits: important carbon sink, coastal protection, windbreak, food and restocking for aquatic animals, shade and shelter for fish.
