The Voa Aina project aims to establish climate resilient agroecosystems to support sustainable food production across Eastern Madagascar. For this purpose, a planting strategy is developed hand in hand with the participating communities. The project enables communities and smallholders to nurture the trees they desire in their neighborhoods. The seedling-based approach fosters ecosystem restoration, mangrove rehabilitation and food production under agroforestry. Key activities are enrichment planting with indigenous species and naturalized fruit trees sourced from local nurseries, and taking care of the trees on the long term.
