Project
Youth-led conservation

In this project, we closely collaborate with the Navilla Youth Group to enhance their administrative systems and governance skills, aiming to boost their capacity to undertake projects aligned with their broader vision. Our goal is to support the group in improving organizational efficiency, transparency, and inclusivity. The youth group, along with members of the wider community, is also experimenting with value chains related to the sustainable management of semi-circular bunds , and they are volunteering in the scaling of the restoration of degraded rangelands. Since the beginning of this partnership in 2022, other goals have been accomplished. These include the recording of a music album featuring 12 songs and the production of two video clips with Titoh Star, a young Samburu artist deeply passionate about nature and women's empowerment. These music videos were showcased at two separate events, featuring live performances by Titoh Star. Consequently, more than 300 individuals from local communities gained awareness of the environmental challenges in Laikipia and northern Kenya, along with the significance of women's integration.
