Project
Conservation and Restoration of the High Andean Forests in the Sendamal Micro-Basin
Peru, Cajamarca started 2022 Active Restoration
Summary
The southern zone of the Sendamal Micro-Basin used to contain considerable patches of natural forests, however most have been destroyed due to shifting cultivation and ranching practices that have intensified environmental degradation. Through collaborations with local communities, this restoration project seeks to conserve and restore high Andean native forests in the region, while increasing economic livelihoods with sources of income that are sustainable for the environment.
