Active Restoration
Summary
Water regulation and storage benefits provided by micro-watersheds that feed the valley of the Cañete River (Lima) are at high risk due environmental degradation and climate change. This project has partnered with four different communities in the Nor Yauyos Cochas region to restore native high Andean forests and aims to ensure water security for the region, which will also reduce the risk of mud and rock slides by stabilizing the mountain landscape.
