Project
Berry Bush Links

Berry Bush Links is a partnership led by Berry Landcare which is working to reconnect the region’s isolated forests to create a vital corridor for wildlife moving between the coast and the escarpment.
The Berry district, which lies in GER’s Illawarra to Shoalhaven partnership region, contains many remnant patches of native vegetation which provide a range of habitats for the region’s diverse wild residents. These include an endangered population of Greater Gliders at Seven Mile Beach National Park and other threatened species such as Powerful Owls, Green and Golden Bell Frogs, and Fishing Bats.

The Berry Bush Links project provides local landholders with funding assistance to link patches of forest through planting corridors of trees; weed and feral animal control; community workshops on seed collection, native plant and weed identification; and training in feral animal control.

Get involved – Seeking EOIs for funding support
Funding is available through Berry Bush Links to support landowners, land managers and primary producers in the area between Barren Grounds Nature Reserve (east of Bong Bong Road, Woodhill Mountain Road and Coolangatta Road) and 7 Mile Beach National Park. If your property lies within the Berry Bush Links focus area (see yellow marker on map below), you may be eligible for funding assistance. To register your interest in the project, download, complete, and return the Expression of Interest form to receive a call and site visit from the project manager.

Berry Bush Links is supported through the NSW Government’s Environmental Trust Bush Connect program.
