The project will contribute to the effective administration of the Hawaii Marine Protected Area, home to some of the most important sea turtle nesting beaches and mangrove forests on the Pacific coast of Guatemala. Together with local communities and other stakeholders, ARCAS procures to conserve the sea turtle, mangroves and other biodiversity of the area while also contributing to the creation of sustainable livelihoods for local low-income residents.
