Mangrove restoration for climate action and community development
Myanmar, Northern part of Ayeyarwady started 2015 Active Restoration, Conservation
In this project, 2.200 ha of degraded mangrove lands will be sustainably managed for carbon sequestration, natural disaster risk reduction, poverty reduction with sustainable livelihoods in the coastal communities. As of 2015, 3 million trees have been planted and 1 million trees have been rescued. The objective is to plant 10 million trees by 2020 and maintain over a minimum period of 20 years.
