Participant in WWF’s Forests Forward programme since August 2023 and currently in the Performance Phase.In this phase, Candela and WWF are jointly implementing agreed action plans and demonstrating progress towards the intended outcomes and impacts.
Candela is working with WWF in order to increase its productivity and act as a barrier against encroachment of illegal activities into the Protected Natural Areas near the members' properties.

Improving Forest Management
This action area pertains to the management of forest resources, be it natural forests or plantations, for specific impacts (e.g. protection of watersheds, wildlife habitats, reducing illegal logging, etc.). Summary of engagement
Candela scources various non-timber forest products from members' concessions and private lands located in production forests and buffer zones of the Manu-Tambopata corridor, Madre de Dios region of Peru. This engagement with WWF seeks to recover forest cover and restore degraded areas, thus increase its production value, protect it against illegal miners and loggers and aid in the recovery of the forest ecosystems.
