Project
Accelerating agroforestry to help protect Tambopata National Reserve

By joining Forests Forward, Agrobosque has committed to transforming 150 hectares of cocoa and copoazu monoculture plantations into sustainable agroforestry systems that will allow soil recovery. In addition, 150 hectares will be reforested with native species to recover and restore soils.

To achieve these objectives, a forestry nursery and 50 temporary cacao nurseries will be established. Capacity will be built by training cooperative members in nursery management and silvicultural practices, including promoting a gender focus. These practices will respond to the European Union's regulatory requirements in terms of good agricultural practices.
